General principles
These hold across every app we publish:
- We do not sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
- We do not share your data for advertising. Where an app shows ads, this is stated plainly in that app's section.
- We collect the minimum an app needs to work, and each app's section says exactly what that is.
- You can refuse a permission and keep using whatever does not depend on it.
What Bijli collects
Bijli is a Windows program that plays a charging animation when you plug in your laptop, and reminds you about your battery. It has no account and no sign-in, and it goes online for one thing only: keeping itself up to date.
What we collect
- Nothing is collected, transmitted or stored by us. There are no servers, no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising.
- Battery information stays on your PC. Bijli asks Windows whether the charger is plugged in, how full the battery is and how long it has left, and, once when it starts, how much charge the battery can still hold compared with when it was new. It uses this only to show the animation, the reminders and the Settings window. It is not stored and not sent anywhere.
- No screen capture, no microphone, no keyboard. The animation is drawn on top of your screen. Bijli never reads what is on it, never records sound and does not watch what you type.
- Your settings stay on your PC, in your Windows registry under
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareBijli.
What it changes on your PC
- Installation — the program is copied into your own user folder (
AppDataLocalProgramsBijli), with a Start menu shortcut. No admin rights are requested. - Start with Windows — if you choose it, Bijli puts a shortcut to itself in your Startup folder, so it is running when you plug in.
- Installed apps entry — so that Bijli can be removed from Windows Settings like any other program.
Updates
When it starts, Bijli downloads a small file from www.aantstudio.com/updates.json that lists the newest version. If a newer one exists it downloads the installer from GitHub, where our downloads are hosted, and runs it. Those two requests carry what any web request does — your IP address and a line saying the program and its version — and nothing else. Our hosting providers may keep ordinary server logs of the requests.
Links
Bijli’s window has links to this website, this policy, the terms and our email address. They open in your own browser or mail program only when you click them.
Children
Bijli collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Data retention and deletion
There is nothing on our side to delete, because nothing reaches us. Uninstalling Bijli from Settings → Apps → Installed apps removes the program, its shortcuts and its settings.
Data security
Data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Access to production systems is limited to people who need it, and authentication and payment details are handled by the specialist providers named above rather than stored by us.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Email contact@aantstudio.com and we will respond within 30 days.
California residents (CCPA)
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA. You have the right to know what we collect, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising either.
European Economic Area and UK (GDPR)
We process your data to perform the service you asked for, and on the basis of consent where a permission is involved. You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and to object. You may also complain to your local supervisory authority.
Children
Our apps are not intended for children under 13, or under the minimum age required where you live if that is higher. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has an account, email us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced in the app they affect.
