Can you sing it backwards?
Say "Hello, how are you today?" and Backwards plays it reversed — pure gibberish. Copy that gibberish as well as you can, and Backwards flips your copy back round. If you got it right, out comes "Hello, how are you today?" in your own voice. If you didn't, it's even funnier. Every round gets a score.

How it works
Record. Reverse. Copy. Flip.
Pick a challenge or record your own phrase — up to six seconds. Hear it backwards as many times as you need, then record your best impression of the backwards sound. Backwards reverses your impression, and the moment of truth plays straight away.
- Ten ready-made challenges, or anything you like
- Silence trimmed automatically, quiet takes brought up
- Play the original, the reversed and your flipped copy

The score
How close did you get?
Backwards compares the rhythm, loudness and brightness of your flipped copy with the original, allowing for you being slower or faster, and gives it a score — from "pure gibberish" to "uncanny". Share the score card, or share the sound: the original, then your copy flipped back.
- A score for every round, and your best
- Share a picture or the audio itself
- Made for passing round at a party

Common questions.
Everything you need to know about Backwards.
What is the reverse singing challenge?
You play a recording backwards, imitate the reversed sound, then reverse your imitation. Because the reversal undoes itself, a good imitation turns back into the original words — in your voice, slightly alien. It's harder than it sounds and very funny to watch.
How does the score work?
It compares how loudness and brightness (vowels against "s" and "t" sounds) rise and fall over time in the original and in your flipped copy, lining them up so going a bit slower or faster isn't punished. It isn't speech recognition — it doesn't know the words — so treat it as a fun judge, not a strict one.
Are my recordings kept?
Only the current round's two clips, in the app's own storage, and they're replaced when you start another round. Nothing leaves your phone unless you share it.
