Bass, tenor, alto or soprano? Sing and find out.
Voice Type listens while you sing "ahh" down to your lowest comfortable note and up to your highest. It hears the exact notes you can hold — not the cracks and slides in between — shows your range on a piano keyboard, and tells you which of the six classical voice types it fits. Then train your ear with a note-matching game, or watch your pitch live.

The test
Two notes. Two minutes.
Slide down to the lowest note you can hold, then up to the highest. Voice Type tracks your pitch about forty times a second with the YIN algorithm and only counts a note once you've held it steady — so a growl, a crack or a breath doesn't set your range.
- The live note you're singing, and how sharp or flat
- Your pitch drawn as a line over the notes
- Only notes held steady count

The result
Your range, on a keyboard.
See exactly which keys your voice covers, how many octaves that is, and which voice type it fits best — with the next-closest named too, because real voices overlap. The result is a card made for sharing: "My voice type is Baritone, A2–G♯4".
- Bass, baritone, tenor, alto, mezzo-soprano or soprano
- Range in notes and octaves, and what that means
- A shareable result card

Practice
Hit the note.
Hear a note from inside your own range, sing it back, and hold it in tune for a moment. Ten rounds. Any octave counts. It's pitch training that feels like a game, plus a live pitch meter for warming up.
- Notes picked from your measured range
- A tuner-style needle shows how far off you are
- A live pitch screen for practice

Common questions.
Everything you need to know about Voice Type.
How accurate is it?
The pitch detection is accurate to within ten cents (a tenth of a semitone) across the singing range, from a low E2 bass note to a soprano's C6. Your range is only as good as the notes you sing, though: test after a warm-up and you'll probably find a note or two more at each end.
Can an app really tell my voice type?
It can tell which voice type your range fits, which is the biggest part of it. Singing teachers also listen for tone and where your voice sits comfortably, so Voice Type says which type you're closest to — and names the runner-up — rather than claiming the final word.
Does it record me?
No. It listens through the microphone, works out the note you're singing, live, and keeps only your lowest and highest note. No audio is saved and nothing is sent anywhere.
